Asus showed-off its first SSD called ‘Raidr’ under ROG series so its made specifically keeping gamers and enthusiasts in mind. When we say that, it obviously means higher-than-consumer-grade performance level. The drive is set to be releasing sometime in May, but the pricing is still unknown.

According to the marketing readouts, it can performance sequential read and write of upto 830 MB/s and 810 MB/s and can do upto 100,000 IOPS for 4K Read/Write operations. There are also certain exclusive features from Asus: RAMDisk, SSDTweakIt, ROG HybriDisk, ROG themed CrystalDiskMark benchmarking software, secure erase (thank you!) and firmware updater tool with Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2013 software.

The software part is what I am really interested to see, especially Ramdisk and Hybrid Disk.

According to the specifications, this uses Dual LSI SF-2281 SSD PCIe x2 2.0, with an 120GB and a 240GB variant with an internal RAID 0 setup. The drive uses 19nm Toshiba flash NAND and the entire unit as a metal casing with usual ROG colours.
